Subwoofers

A subwoofer handles the low end your other speakers can't, the part of a movie or a track you feel as much as hear. It's the difference between a soundtrack that's nice and one that lands in your chest. Smaller rooms do fine with a compact powered model; bigger spaces and serious movie setups want more output. Start near a wall or corner, then move it until the bass feels even.
